This article made me think about how broad the term "art" can be today. The outrageous post on e-bay made by Michael Green could, its self, be seen as the art. Even though on a surface level, it is merely an attempt to sell a piece of art (the gif).
In a similar sense, both of these images above could be seen as art in the right scenario when they are much more easily seen as something much more mundane.
Digital art has now blown open the doors for what could be considered art. The medium by which art is consumed now has endless possibilities.
The means by which art is created now has no limits as well. The thing that stood out to me the most in the article was how this space of art has grown into so many facets of life so quickly that an exact definition of what art is has become exceedingly hard to keep track of.
A gif like this is pulled from a TV show that used this seen as a comment on how much people consume content as comedy what it its self is the content being consumed. With so much to unpack in one simple gif, it is hard to find where the value in a gif, or any peace of modern art, is found.
